State Division of Motor Cars officials say sales have already been sturdy inside the previous year of supplying E-ZPass tags in DMV offices.

“We are constantly looking for approaches to enhance the buyer service we present, and I’m glad that so many New Yorkers located this to be a useful option at their regional DMV offices,” stated DMV Executive Deputy Commissioner Terri Egan. “As the summer time travel season gets closer, I encourage our prospects to take advantage of this service. Getting E-ZPass tends to make it considerably simpler and more handy for travelers using our roads, specifically as cashless tolling becomes much more prevalent.”

In April 2017, Ezpass System DMV started promoting E-ZPass tags in all 27 state-operated DMV offices. Within the first year, 34,807 E-ZPass tags have been sold at these areas. The DMV’s Coney Island workplace sold one of the most transponders with 5,363 in 1 year. The Bronx workplace had the second highest sales, promoting 2,983 transponders.

As a part of the transition to cashless tolling, the New York State Thruway Authority and Metropolitan Transportation Authority are encouraging all motorists to sign up for E-ZPass NY and save on tolls across the state, which includes a five percent discount along the complete 570-mile state Thruway.
