Music Therapy

Learning to relax is a vital skill because our instinctive responses to stress are often more harmful than the stress itself. But hidden talent for music or no, every child can benefit from music therapy. It helps people recognize, understand and come to terms with these repressed emotions and communicating them to others at the same time. Learning to relax is the biggest problem when you have anxiety or spirituality panic attacks, you really have to learn how to relax.

The exercises that are particularly useful for stress relief are deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, meditation, yoga, tai chi, massage therapy, normal exercise, and sensory approaches. One of the misgivings parents have about music therapy is that they fear a child can only benefit from it if he or she is musically inclined.

While music as therapy has shown to be effective in some cases, there is still much research to be done with it. Each patient has specific physical and previous psychological conditions that affect the result this therapy can have on their recovery. Music and dance was used in treatment of mental diseases at the time.

It is often noticed that, excessive sessions of music therapy can cause harm to intensive care patients. Studies back this up as patients awaiting and even during a surgical or other medical procedure were positively impacted by music which helped then to remain calm and reduced anxiety about the medical experience.

Since 1950s, music therapy using classical music has been recognized and used for multiple disorders, depression, upset stomach, fatigue, cancer, migraines and even stress. It's a great way to relieve stress and to avoid anxiety and panic attacks by avoiding negative thoughts while you enjoy the peaceful sounds of beautiful music.
